"Although the book is over 600 pages it is not cumbersome or heavy to carry. My trip was social and birding was 'on the hoof' so a local guide was not practical. However, who needs a guide when you possess such a wonderful bird finding guide "Birding in Poland'. I visited the fish pools between Auschwitz and Krakow including the Tatra Mountains. The text and maps where incredibly accurate and invaluable for searching key species. In all I spent only 10 hours birding (equivalent to 3 half days) and managed to see nearly 100 species. I could not have achieved this without this superb guide, a must to every birder travelling to Poland."
